Supporting Active Duty Military and their Families

Jacksonville USO- They support active duty Military in the NE Florida region.  They get no financial support from the National USO.  When we learned that they had to generate their own funding and they receive no money from the National USO we were surprised and shocked.  With Jacksonville being one of the nation’s communities with a large concentration of active duty military the need for funding for the USO is of major importance.  What the USO does for our active duty military is remarkable, especially in our nation’s airports where they help active duty and families feel comfortable as they await connecting flights.  My daughter, her husband and my grandson were given gracious hospitality by the USO while they were traveling to Japan for his new duty station.  They help military families with the transition, feed them and house them while they await flights.  The staffs are volunteers and they work with cheer in their hearts and gratitude for the military.  They know the drill and when you are a young family traveling overseas this is a welcome service.  They keep the luggage straight, make sure the families are informed about ticket procedures and ensure you make it to the gate you need to get to.  Knowing what they do and having them have helped my daughter and her family, deciding to partner with and support the USO was an easy decision to make.

  • Host more than 180,000 visitors each year at their three facilities
